And we agree. Folk high school is about speed and rest, fun and seriousness, development and reflection, conversations and seminars, breadth and depth, wholeness and details, both subjects and social life - that is, both brain and heart. You will gain experiences that are useful for studies, work and leisure for the rest of your life - a year you will never forget.

A year at a folk high school is exciting and contains new subjects for you. You will meet skilled teachers with a lot of experience, have time off from exams and homework and meet new friends. You will experience boarding life, student evenings, exciting expeditions at home and abroad and much, much more.

Valdres Folk High School facilitates the development of you - with your experiences - and explore your possibilities. We want to facilitate the development of your whole self - so that you can become a more creative, mature and open-minded person.

Life at Valdres Folkehøgskole also consists of living in a boarding house, preferably with one of your fellow students. Living at the school means that the distinction between school and leisure time is blurred. Valdres Folkehøgskole is known for having a very good social environment.

The average age of the students is approximately 19.5 years, and the distribution between boys/girls is approximately 50/50 with variation from year to year.
