Student team

The student association is for those of you who are former students or former employees at Valdres Folkehøgskole. We make it easier for you to maintain contact with your cohort, and to get to know other former students as well. The student association board therefore arranges three meetings during the year. These are:

 

 

Powder and hug

Get-together on the last weekend in January for students who have attended the school for the past five years. Skiing, meeting old friends, a tournament in the gym, laughter and joy. Come here to meet old friends, and get to know other former Valdres students.

Accommodation during the meeting is a mattress/sleeping mat in the gym/classroom.

 

Last year's reunion

Meet-up weekend in week 8 every year for students who attended the school the previous year. Skiing, tournament, reminiscence evening, meeting friends from last year.

Anniversary gathering

A get-together for former students celebrating their 5th, 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th anniversaries. There will be class reunions, class reunions, stories, new acquaintances, a celebratory dinner and a tour. Opportunity to

This meeting will be at the end of week 40, when the year students are on autumn break.

Accommodation: Accommodation is offered on mattresses/mattresses in the gymnasium/classroom. The student team will also try to arrange affordable accommodation near the school. This will have to be booked yourself.

General information for former students at Bo og fridit/Aktiv fridit – botrening

Everyone is welcome to the meeting, of course also former students at Bo og fritid. Unfortunately, the student association does not have the opportunity to follow up with anyone with extra help needs. Neither do the school's teachers or scholarship holders this weekend. We therefore ask that students who need special follow-up bring a companion, or have a person near the school who can be contacted if necessary. The school cabin "Syskenborg"

Former students will probably remember that the Student Union previously owned the school cabin, which the school has been the largest user of. Following a decision at the annual meeting in January 2017, the Student Union transferred ownership of the school cabin to Valdres Folkehøgskole. As part of the agreement, members of the Student Union are allowed to rent the cabin at a reduced price.

Price for renting the cabin:

Do you want to become a member?

Membership in the student club costs 100 kroner. Membership expires each calendar year and must be renewed on January 1. We would greatly appreciate it if more people would like to help support the work the Student Club does. Please make an automatic withdrawal on January 1 of each year, as the Student Club Board is not able to send out reminders to renew membership.

Annual meeting

All members of the student association have the right to attend and vote at the annual meeting. The annual meeting is held the same weekend as powder and hugs, usually the last weekend in January.

The notice of the annual meeting and agenda will be published on Facebook and on this website. Minutes will be published no later than 14 days later on the same site. The annual meeting usually takes place at Valdres Folkehøgskole in January each year.

Roles (same person two years at a time) and tasks in the student team:

MANAGER

As the leader of the student club, you are ultimately responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly. This applies especially to meetings, but also finances, registration in the Brønnøysund registers, contact with the school, etc. 

 In general, what always needs to be done is to contact the school, follow up on finances, and keep in touch with the student council members. 

 

NEXT LEADER

The deputy leader of the student team is in many ways a role that is subordinate to the leader of the student team, which means that the leader can delegate some of his or her tasks to the deputy leader if necessary. The deputy leader will be able to step into the role of leader if the student team leader has to cancel any of the meetings. 

 

PR AND MEDIA

- Responsible for ensuring that media and PR are followed up properly

- Take photos and videos during matches

- Advertise meetings and the student team on Facebook, and ensure updated information on the school website

 

ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY

- Monitor whether those registered also pay correctly in relation to the option they have chosen in their registration - with/without membership and accommodation option

- Pay the invoice for renting the school and an invoice from Valdres Alpine Center at the meetings where this applies. 

 

MEET RESPONSIBLY

The main responsibility of the meeting leader is the work surrounding the meeting itself. It involves organizing the meeting itself, and distributing responsibilities that need to be done during the weekend.
