Travel
Peru // Alps
Join us on an unforgettable adventure through Peru, where we will explore the country's rich history, stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. We will climb, hike high mountain peaks, explore cities and wild nature, get to know the culture and eat great food!
We will first travel to Callejón de Huaylas and the mighty peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. There we will climb the mountain, followed by a multi-day trek to Ishinca Base Camp and then to climb Mount Tocillaju, with spectacular views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
After this, we travel to Lima to explore its culture and history. We will visit the Ballestas Islands, full of wildlife, and experience the adrenaline of sandboarding and sandboarding at the Huacachina Oasis.
We then travel to Cusco where we will explore the Sacred Valley, visit the majestic Machu Picchu, and continue our adventure with a hike to Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain, known for its vibrant, colorful slopes.
Finally, we'll head to the turquoise Humantay Lagoon, set against a stunning backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Look forward to this diverse and exciting Peruvian adventure!
Alps - Austria - Schladming - Czech Republic
Valdres Folk High School has unique study trips. One of them is the trip to Austria and the Czech Republic. This trip goes together with several classes at the school. Together we get on the bus and drive down to Austria!
In Austria we stay at the Taurnhof. It is located in the middle of the ski resort of Schladming, 20 meters from the gondola. Lace up your boots, stroll across the street and take the gondola up to over 1500 meters in altitude. The Tauernhof has ski and snowboard instructors from several places in the world. They live with us throughout your stay. These instructors have local knowledge that gives you the opportunity to explore hidden gems and secret spots where the powder skiing is absolutely magical.
Experience the pure joy of hurtling down snowy mountain slopes, powder skiing and moments of pure joy. On this trip you will quickly develop your skiing skills while creating memories together with the rest of your good friends.
After a day of skiing, a delicious dinner awaits, followed by an evening gathering filled with laughter and fellowship where you can share stories and experiences from the day. For many, this is a highlight of the day.
But eventually the journey must continue – we travel to Prague in the Czech Republic. We look forward to exploring the city's streets, architecture and culture. In good company we look around the city and relax after several days of skiing.

This line is suitable for both those who have never tried climbing before and those who have good experience with bouldering or climbing. You should have skied before, but no experience with mountaineering is required. Hello!
I'm Eira and I'm a line teacher at Vertikal – Climbing and Skiing! Throughout this year, I want to facilitate mastery experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life and I want to teach you new skills that you will enjoy after finishing your folk high school year.
I have a bachelor's degree in outdoor activities and a one-year degree in pedagogy. Most of my free time is spent climbing, skiing, and cycling.

How to finance your school year?
Some people think that folk high schools are expensive, but it is significantly cheaper to live in a boarding house at a folk high school than to live in a dormitory and pay for your own food. See the calculation example below:
